I am thinking about either going to Canada or Mexico to get my H1B stamped. I know that if I go to Canada, I would need a canadian visa. But do I need a visa to go to Mexico, just to the border consulate? And also where do you guys think would be safer, and easier to get H1B? And the other problem is, my wife is also planning to go with me. Do you think we can simultaneously get H1b (for me) and H4 for my wife? Right now she is in tourist visa. If you guys with experience or information could help me. I would be glad.
And what documents would I need to provide to get Canadian tourist visa?

I was in Vancouver 3 times to get my H1B stamp and it was pretty easy and quick. I think if you go to canada, it would be better and easier. I heard few stories about all
kinds of unrelated questions being asked in Mexico consulate.

As for your wife, she should be able to get the visa with you. Just need to have her
origional approval notice.

For canada visa, all you need is the approval notice along with your pictures and app
forms. Take your latest bank statement just in case....

H1B1 approval and H4 approval notice that you and your employer gets whehn they
applied for H1B approval. You should carry the origional to the cansulate.
